Astro's, Cowboys, Candy, Oh My!

So there is not a whole lot new these days. Halloween is coming up, which means I get to "test" the candy to make sure its safe to eat. Now, of course this is a completely genuine security measure employed by me to ensure the safety of the little ones who will eat it. I only require one piece of every single kinda of candy (particularly tast... err I mean suspicious kinds will require more testing).

I can't believe the Astro's lost the world series. I believe they have a team just as good as the White Sox. Notice how every game was decided by only a few runs... But, a win is a win, and 4 wins is a championship. They'll be either a footnote or forgotten to all except the fans in Houston. Like my Braves every single year.

On Sunday, the Cowboys did everything possible to steal defeat from the clutches of victory. That sums up the last 2 minutes of that heartbreaking loss.

Time to pay attention in Computer class...

Cold!

My new thermometer. I'm going to patent this invention, and sell millions of them. You're on your honor not to steal my idea though!

That should do it. It was 36˚ this morning, and therefore, I just had to let it be known that I suffer greatly in this subarctic climate.

How 'bout dem 'stros...

All I can say is, way to go Astros. Now if you know me at all, you should be aware that I'm a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan, and that will never change. I was hoping the Braves would knock the Astros around in the first round of the playoffs. But the Astros played better baseball, and hence, they are where they are. I've lived in or around Houston for a pretty good chunk of my life, and so the Astros (and the rest of the sports teams in the city) are legitimate second favorite teams of mine. I route for them unless they are playing teams like the Braves, and the Cowboys, whom I am a diehard fan of. So all in all? Great performance by the Astros, and I'll be routing for them to kick some White Sox ass.

"Baseball is made up of very few big and dramatic moments, but rather it's a beautifully put together pattern of countless little subtleties that finally add up to the big moment, and you have to be well-versed in the game to truly appreciate them." ~ Paul Richards, Orioles manager

Classes, Car, Quiznos

Greetings. Where to start. Hmmm...

I'm happy to report that I have an 'A' average in all four of my classes thus far. Now granted, we're only like, 1/3 of the way to the finish line here, but starting strong out of the gate is important. I even got an A on my speech I gave in speech class, which is a sure sign that God does exist. The only class I'm having trouble with is Precalc, and its not due to comprehension, but to the inordinate amount of work this lady assigns. I spend more time working late hours into the night on assignments for her class, than double all my other classes combined. But I have persevered thus far, and I hope that my future Calc courses aren't as reminiscent of high school as this one.

Lets see, what else. I finally will be able to get new tires for my car. Most people who see my current ones tell me that they wouldn’t ride with me if i paid them to. I’m hoping to get that done on tomorrow or Thursday. Friday we are painting the girls’ bedroom, which should be fun. I’ve never done interior painting, but how hard can it be to run a roller across the wall, and tape up the trim or whatever? My painting credentials include miniatures (for Warhammer and D&D), and a fence (Man did I do a good job).

That’s all for today. I hope to update more often in the future. Civilization 4 comes out in less than a month I believe, and they are building a Quiznos Sub RIGHT NEXT TO WHERE I WORK!!!!!!! Lord have mercy on my wallet.

Aloha!

I've been very sick over the past few days with some kinda stomach bug/virus/bacteria/space-organisism. To top that off, the Braves caved to the Astros this weekend, which basically ended a happy baseball season. Better luck next year I guess.

My oh my, did the Cowboys ever whip up on the Eagles. God that was sweet. I hate the Eagles with so much passion... I don't just want a victory every time they play... I want a slaughter. I want a 45-3 blowout. I want 6 Eagles players to be carried off the field in a stretcher. I want Roy Williams to end T.O.'s Career wiht one hit. I want... I want... yeah, you get the point. The 33-10 win was sweet.

Time to hit the books and catch up on the school work I missed.

What the *@(#&

Highly opinionated piece of heated outrage. Viewers Discretion advised.

I can't believe what I found out today. My daughter's kindergarten class is having a field trip soon. The choice of destination to educate them? The ghetto in New Haven. We live in a very nice area, in a middle to upper class town, and someone (Not me, yet, but I gladly will when able) pays the taxes so that the kids can go to a decent public school, and the teacher wants to take them to a crime-infested slum because they aren't getting enough "Ethnic Diversity" here in Guilford. What the Fuck? Should I even mention that the teacher is the only black person in the class, or is that easy to figure out? The poor poor children.. Boo-fucking hoo. Cry me a river that we live in a wealthy, shi-shi area, and somehow, amazingly enough, there are very very very few black people. Go march in line behind Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton, and continue supporting the political figures who keep a large portion of your race in poverty, but don't force my children's innocent eyes upon the lowest levels of society in the name of ethnic diversity. Teach them Martin Luther King! Teach them Malcolm-X! Don't take them to the god damn ghetto.

In the name of my blood-pressure, think with your head, and let parents raise their children. I think I can handle making sure I don't raise a few racist, prejudice kids, thanks.

Short and Sweet

Short and Sweet today.

Stupid paper is due tomarrow. Yes, calling the incomplete paper a bad name makes me feel better.

I got a letter in the mail from Jeremy a few days ago. In case you didn't know, Jeremy is like, my lifelong best bud who joined the Air Force recently and just sent word that he's doing well, but they might be discharging him for medical reasons. He seemed to be planning his whole future on the military, so I'm not sure how upset he is. He seems to be in good spirits, so I'm looking forward to asking him what the hell happened as soon as I get a chance.

My Fantasy Football Team is 3-1, so I'm pretty happy about that. Nothing else tosay, life is good, so take it easy!
